Tuscany is not only good wine and olive oil! Our food tradition also includes a wide range of cheeses ( Pecorino). Most of them are still homemade, and cheese makers offer us the chance of visiting the cheese farm/factory too. At the end of the tour, a yummy cheese tasting will wait for us, with delicious bites matched with homemade jams and honey.

Extra virgin olive oil tour

Extra virgin olive oil tour

You will go deep in the beautiful Chianti area together with Bea, to visit one of the best olive oil producers in Tuscany, owning 3000 olive trees and producing 4 different kinds of extra virgin olive oil. The owner will tour you in the farm, and will teach you how to recognize a great Italian olive oil. It will be a real Olive oil tasting school!

Are you renting an apartment in a Tuscan agriturismo? Would you like learning the secrets of a real Italian Pizza? A complete cooking class at home, starting with how to make a great dough, ending at the table, passing through delicious toppings. Please note this class can be only held at home. Requirements: a big enough kitchen and possibly a wood burning oven ( a standard oven could be fine too).
Duration: From 4 to 6 hours. Dinner time included*Bea's suggestion: We could go and get your pizza toppings at the farmer's market in the morning, or get some great local veggies and cheese by a local farm.

Saffron tour & San Gimignano

Saffron was considered gold by Tuscans in the ancient past. This delicious and colorful spice grows and can be tasted in the San Gimignano area. Farms with great views on the Medieval towers of San Gimignano will be happy to show us how they grow saffron and let us taste this delicacy. We will have time to visit San Gimignano too of course.
Duration: from 2 to 5 hours, depending on the itinerary. Including lunch, free time in San Gimignano, and transfer from your accommodation back and forth.*Bea's suggestion: October is the month for the Saffron harvest, when you will see its beautiful and purple flowers blooming.

Italians can't miss a good dish of pasta every day. Like all Italian mammas, you will learn how to make your own pasta at home: Fresh, soft, light, delicious!The class will be followed by dinner. This class can be either held where you stay, or at another farmhouse in the Chianti region.

A gourmand maître chocolatier will be happy to show his delicious production, letting us taste his most appreciated tidbits. The sweet smell of the workshop will cast a spell on us and we will never want to leave the chocolate factory!

Traditions are still very strong in Tuscany. Visiting a local market is maybe the best way to experience all of them at the same time: colors, smells, noise, life!We could buy some very seasonal and local products, then drive back home to prepare a perfect Tuscan lunch together with a local cook...

Do you know Queen Honey Bee? Tuscan flowers know her very well!We will be introduced to the queen bee and her very busy court. A whole world is waiting to bediscovered and loved; among colors, delicious smells, sweetness and the genuine passion of people who will welcome us.Tour will be followed by honey tasting matched with local cheese and breads.

A half day trip to taste and see the production of real pecorino cheese and Tuscan cold cuts. You will also see the typical cinta senese pigs in their ranch, before driving to the butcher shop!
